The Department also met with the PTA of Presby Basic school at Pepease on the 8th of February to engage the Parents and Caregivers of the School on Child protection issues. Some of the topics treated were child labor, child marriage, poor parenting, verbal abuse, physical abuse, and emotional abuse as well as a demonstration called sack of stone. At the end of the engagement, the parents were made aware that, the welfare of their children must be their ultimate responsibility.
The Department also met with the PTA of D/A Basic school on the 7th of February to engage the Parents and Caregivers of the School on Child protection issues. Some of the topics treated were child labor, child marriage, poor parenting, verbal abuse, physical abuse, and emotional abuse as well as a stepping-stone demonstration. At the end of the engagement, the parents were made aware that their children’s welfare must be their ultimate responsibility.
